Air Fryer Lotus Root - Kashmiri Nadru Monja

This lotus root fritter recipe is delicious and very easy to make.

Method
 

Prep
  1. Rinse the lotus root. Place it in a colander for 5 minutes. Peel and chop the lotus root into thin finger like pieces. Dab it dry.
Cook
  1. In a bowl, add 1 tbsp oil with all the other ingredients except lotus root and water. Then, add water and stir well.

  2. Add the sliced lotus root in the mix and coat it well.

  3. When you are ready to cook, rub inside of air fryer basket with the remaining oil.

  4. Preheat the air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes.

  5. Once the air fryer is preheated, add the lotus root coated with batter in the air fryer basket in a single layer. 

  6. Air fry at 350°F for 10 minutes. Toss and cook again 380°F for 6 minutes. Remove the air fried lotus root in a plate. Repeat until you run out of all the batter.

  7. Serve hot.

Notes

On a spice level of 1 to 5, I would place this at 4. It is spicy. So if you would like to reduce the heat you can decrease the amount of red chili powder.
