Prep
- Rinse the lotus root. Place it in a colander for 5 minutes. Peel and chop the lotus root into thin finger like pieces. Dab it dry.
Cook
- In a bowl, add 1 tbsp oil with all the other ingredients except lotus root and water. Then, add water and stir well.
- Add the sliced lotus root in the mix and coat it well.
- When you are ready to cook, rub inside of air fryer basket with the remaining oil.
- Preheat the air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes.
- Once the air fryer is preheated, add the lotus root coated with batter in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry at 350°F for 10 minutes. Toss and cook again 380°F for 6 minutes. Remove the air fried lotus root in a plate. Repeat until you run out of all the batter.
- Serve hot.
Notes
On a spice level of 1 to 5, I would place this at 4. It is spicy. So if you would like to reduce the heat you can decrease the amount of red chili powder.
