Prep
- First, rinse and peel the potatoes. Secondly, dice them into 2 - inch thick cubes. Dice the potatoes evenly, this will ensure that all potatoes are uniformly cooked and browned. Further, toss the potatoes in a bowl with 2 tbsp oil, kosher salt, red chili powder (cayenne pepper), garlic powder, and black ground pepper.
Cook
- When you are ready to cook, grease your Air Fryer basket with 1 tbsp oil. I grease mine by rubbing, brushing, or spraying, a little bit of oil on the bottom grate. Then, follow your air fryer directions for preheating to 400°F for 3 minutes.
- When it’s preheated, working in batches, place the potatoes in a single layer. Air fry for 15 minutes, stopping and shaking the basket 2-3 times throughout to promote even cooking.
- You’ll know the potatoes are done when they have a nice golden-brown color on the outside and they can be effortlessly stabbed with a fork.
- Serve topped with an egg in your favorite style, or as a side and enjoy!
Notes
- If time allows, peel, and dice the potatoes at least 10 minutes ahead, or even a few hours before and soak in water. This step eliminates as much starch as possible.
- Additionally, season the potatoes right before cooking. Allowing the potatoes to stay with salt, will eliminate the moisture, which will hinder the crisping process.
