Prep
- Quickly rinse the mushrooms and dry them with a paper towel. I like to remove the bottom of the stem which is frequently dirty and sometimes a bit woody. Second, chop the mushrooms into 2 to 4 pieces depending on the size.
- Finely mince the garlic.
Cook
- When you are ready to cook, in a heavy bottom skillet add in oil and unsalted butter.
- Add in the garlic and stir. Add in the mushrooms and let them sauté for 4 to 5 minutes. Stir intermittently.
- Add in the heavy whipping cream, and cream cheese. Further, stir well and let it come to a boil. Furthermore, top off with parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper. Finally, stir until the cheese melts. Reduce the cream by saueting.
- Cut the whole bagels, toast them in a toaster and top off with mushrooms.
