Kashmiri Saffron Tea Chai - Kesar Chai s a comforting warm drink that’s brimming with antioxidants. It’s a popular Kashmiri beverage that is soothing. Kashmiri Pandits typically consume three types of tea, which include Kehwa (a type of green tea) , Sheer Chai and saffron tea.

- 4 cups water
- 20-25 saffron strands
- 1 cinnamon stick 2 inch piece (dalchini)
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom (elaichi powder)
- 1 and 1/2 tbsp slivered almonds (plus a few more to top off)
- 1 and 1/2 tbsp sugar (you can reduce or eliminate as per taste)
Cook
Place 4 cups water and in a small saucepan and bring the water to boil on high heat.
Add in saffron strands, crushed cinnamon, ground cardamom and slivered almonds.
Further let it boil for a minute. Next turn off the heat and cover with a lid for about a minute. Finally transfer in a cup and top off with additional almonds.
This tea is supposed to be sweet however you can reduce the amount of sugar as per your taste. Moreover, you can also eliminate the sugar if you like.
