Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves (1 tsp minced)
  • 1 serrano pepper, small (green chili, 1/2 tsp chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 oz mushrooms, white button (227 grams)
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese ( I used Amul, you can use parmasean as well)

Method

Prep
  1. Quickly rinse the mushrooms and dry them with a paper towel. I like to remove the bottom of the stem which is frequently dirty and sometimes a bit woody. Chop the large mushrooms into 4 pieces and small ones to 2.
  2. Chop the serrano pepper finely.
  3. If using Amul cheese or fresh parmasean grate it and set aside.
Cook
  1. When you are ready to cook in a heavy-bottom skillet on medium heat, add in unsalted butter. Second, add the minced garlic and let it sauté for a minute. Stir. Third add in serrano peppers and let them sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. Further add In mushrooms, salt, and pepper, and stir. Additionally, cover with lid and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Furthermore, open the lid and add grated cheese and stir. Finally, turn off heat once the cheese melts.
