Ingredients

  • 8 oz Halloumi cheese
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Method

  1. Firstly to toast sesame seeds, place the seeds in a dry skillet without oil over medium heat. Second, stir often with a wooden spoon, until the seeds are fragrant and golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes. Also, make sure to stay at the stove because the seeds can easily burn!
  2. Chop the halloumi cheese to 3 inch cubes. In a bowl, add in Sriracha sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, honey, and mix well. Then, dip the Halloumi cheese in the mix from both sides and let it marinate for 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Place a pan on medium heat. Next, brush the pan lightly with olive oil. Further, sear the cheese in the hot pan until each slice develops a deep brown crust, about 1 minute on the first side and 1 to 2 minutes on the other. Take the cheese off the heat and serve immediately. The left over marinade sauce can be used as a dipping sauce.
