Ingredients needed to make Indian Stir Fry Peas – Sookhi Matar Sabzi

Method to make this recipe –

First in a deep wok, heat 2 tablespoon oil.  Second, add in cumin seeds, whole dry red chillies, and asafoetida. Third, once the cumin seeds splutter add green peas and stir. Further, add in turmeric, 1 tsp salt, and water cover and cook for about 10 minutes or until the peas is cooked.

Furthermore, once the peas are cooked, add in ground coriander, garam masala, Kashmiri chili powder, and dry mango powder. Moreover, mix and stir well. Finally, switch off the flame. Moreover, enjoy with roti or rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cup peas, frozen or fresh (I used frozen)
  • 2 tbsp oil of choice
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida    (heeng)
  • 2 whole dried red chilli
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric          (haldi)
  • 1 tsp kashmiri chili powder
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp ground coriander         (dhaniya powder)
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 3/4 tsp mango powder        (amchur/amchoor powder)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp water
