Ingredients needed to make Indian Stir Fry Peas – Sookhi Matar Sabzi
- 1.5 cups of green peas (matar), fresh or frozen ( I have used frozen peas, there is no need to thaw them)
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- ¼ tsp asafoetida
- 2 whole dry red chillies
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)
- 1 teaspoon kashmiri chilli powder
- 1.5 teaspoon dhania powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- 3/4 teaspoon dry mango powder (amchur powder)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp water
Method to make this recipe –
First in a deep wok, heat 2 tablespoon oil. Second, add in cumin seeds, whole dry red chillies, and asafoetida. Third, once the cumin seeds splutter add green peas and stir. Further, add in turmeric, 1 tsp salt, and water cover and cook for about 10 minutes or until the peas is cooked.
Furthermore, once the peas are cooked, add in ground coriander, garam masala, Kashmiri chili powder, and dry mango powder. Moreover, mix and stir well. Finally, switch off the flame. Moreover, enjoy with roti or rice.
