My family loves this dish and I like having it on hand for an easy dessert. It reminds me of a lot of my childhood and of the endless, fun times spent at my parents home.

Recipe Tips:
- I haven’t added any sugar, because, I stir in the condensed milk and I feel that it adds enough sweetness.
- I typically buy roasted vermicelli from the Indian store. That saves me the trouble of roasting it separately. If you don’t have roasted vermicelli, then you can dry roast vermicelli in a pan or wok. All you need to do is dry roast the vermicelli on medium-heat and keep stirring occasionally. The vermicelli needs to change color to light brown. Keep stirring in order to prevent the vermicelli from burning. Take it out from the pan once it changes color.
- I highly recommend using rose extract, it will take the Vermicelli kheer from good to wow.
How To Serve Instant Pot Vermicelli Kheer – Seviyaan Kheer – Semiyan ?
We like eating Vermicelli Kheer both warm or hot, but this is our own preference. However, many of our guests enjoy this delicious dish cold. So either way, it will be just as tasty and delicious. To serve it cold, make sure to refrigerate it before serving. In addition, you can add some milk if it tends to thicken in the refrigerator.
Ingredients:
Ghee, slivered almonds, roasted vermicelli, whole milk, condensed milk, saffron strands, golden raisins, ground cardamom, and rose extract.
How do I make Instant Pot Vermicelli Kheer – Seviyaan Kheer – Semiyan?
First, select sauté on the Instant Pot and adjust to normal. Next, add ghee.
Further, when the ghee is hot add in slivered almonds and let them sauté for a minute or two until fragrant.
Then, add in roasted vermicelli and stir. Let it sauté for a minute.
Add in whole milk, condensed milk, saffron strands, golden raisins, and ground cardamom. Stir well.
Press cancel. Close the lid and select porridge mode for 6 minutes. When done let the pressure release naturally.
Then open the lid, stir well and separate out the vermicelli. Add in rose extract. Garnish with additional nuts if you like.
