Made with minimal ingredients, these Air Fryer Bagels – Easy Spicy Bagels are easy to make and taste awesome.
This recipe has become a staple in our house. My girls and I can’t get enough of them. Additionally, they are so easy to make that now my 9 and 7 year old girls help me make them.

What Ingredients do I need to make Air Fryer Bagels – Easy Spicy Bagels?
Greek yogurt, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, serrano peppers and toppings of choice (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything bagel seasoning), oil and 1 egg (for the wash).
I added the Indian style Serrano peppers and they were delicious. (shown above)
How do I make Air Fryer Bagels – Easy Spicy Bagels?
First, in a mixing bowl combine 1 cup Greek yogurt, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 2 finely chopped serrano peppers, and ¾ tsp salt in a bowl and stir until they are fully combined together.
Second, knead the dough using your hands to form a ball of dough. When it’s finished, the dough shouldn’t be sticky and should be smooth.
Once this is done you will want to place the dough on a surface drizzled with all purpose flour (I used a cutting board). Shape dough into a ball and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Further, shape each piece into a ball. Furthermore, flour your finger and poke a hole through the dough ball. Moreover, stretch the center of the hole and create a bagel shape. If it’s sticky sprinkle a little bit of flour.

Meanwhile, grease your Air Fryer basket with oil. I grease mine by rubbing, brushing, or spraying, oil generously on the bottom grate. Furthermore, follow your air fryer directions for preheating to 290°F for 5 minutes.
Once the bagels are put together, using a pastry brush, and brush the top of the bagels with a lightly beaten egg. Further top the bagels with your favorite toppings. I have used sesame seeds.

Air Fry:
When it’s preheated, place the bagels in a single layer. Set the time and temperature at 290°F for 18 minutes. Additionally, make sure they are separated out or else they will stick to each other.

Also, every air fryer is different, check the bagel after the 15-minute mark and add or reduce the timing according to your fryer. Finally, let the bagels cool before cutting them. Enjoy.

Notes
- The egg wash is used to provide a nice finish to the bagel and help the toppings stick. If you want to eliminate the egg you can and you can use water instead.
- I have used sesame seeds for the toppings. You can use whatever you prefer, for instance, poppy seeds, or everything bagel seasoning.
- If you don’t want them spicy you can eliminate the serrano peppers and follow all the other steps.
- I typically air fry them for 18 minutes, however every air fryer is different and you can check the bagels after the 15 minute mark.
- My kids helped me with making these bagels as shown in the video. If you do want your kids to help make these, make sure they work on this with adult supervision only. The air fryer basket should be touched by kids since it can be hot.
- Please use greek yogurt only. Plain regular yogurt will mess up the consistency.

- You can also make the dough ahead of time and keep it in a sealed container for upto 3 days. However, air fry only when the dough is at room temperature.
- They freeze well too. You can freeze them in a plastic wrap or aluminium foil. Make sure they are sliced into 2 before freezing. Wrap them individually.
Can you use regular yoghurt? Or does it have to be Greek?
Hello. Thank you for your question. I recommend using greek yogurt only. Regular yogurt will mess up the consistency.
