What ingredients do I need to make Garlic Soy Mushrooms – 5 minute 5 ingredient recipe?

Mushrooms (make sure they are not slimy, soggy, or wrinkly). I have used white button mushrooms. You can substitute any of your favorite mushrooms.

Other ingredients – Other than mushrooms, you need unsalted butter, garlic cloves, soy sauce, black pepper, and red crushed pepper.

Prep the mushrooms

First, quickly rinse the mushrooms and dry them with a paper towel. I like to remove the bottom of the stem which is frequently dirty and sometimes a bit woody. Second, chop the large mushrooms into 4 pieces and small ones to 2.

Cook –

First, when you are ready to cook in a heavy-bottom skillet on medium heat, add in unsalted butter. Second, add the mushrooms and let them cook for 2 to 3 minutes until soft and until the mushrooms leave water and reduce slightly in size.

Third, add in garlic and let it cook for a minute. Stir well.  Further, pour in the soy sauce; cook the mushrooms in the soy sauce until the liquid has evaporated. Finally, top off the crushed red pepper and black pepper, and turn off heat.
