Looking for a quick snack idea? This Veg Garlic Cheese Toast – Mumbai Toast wont let you down. It is crispy and toasted on the outside and gooey with cheese and spices in the middle. This Mumbai style toast is one of the world’s most perfect foods — with good reason. It takes 15 mins to make and is SO good. This is a delicious Indian classic snack recipe, especially my kids favorite.

INGREDIENTS for Veg Garlic Cheese Toast – Mumbai Toast-
Toast Mix –
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese – Mozzarella cheese piled on the bread melts evenly.
- Fresh garlic cloves – These need to be minced finely.
- 1/4 cup capsicum chopped finely.
- Green chilies, finely chopped.
- Black pepper
- Oregano
- Cilantro
- Red crushed pepper
- Salt
- 4 bread slices
Butter Spread –
- Salted butter
- Cilantro
- Garlic powder
- Crushed red pepper
How to make this recipe?
First, in a mixing bowl mix all the ingredients under the toast mix. Second, in another mixing bowl make the butter spread.
Further, spread the butter spread first on each toast and then all the cheesy goodness all over each toast.
Next, on a pan add in some plain salted butter and place the toast on the pan, on low heat. Cook covered for 2 to 3 minutes until the toast is toasted and crispy, with the cheese melted. Serve right away or it can get mushy.

- Add the butter spread on each slice. Add the toast mix well on each slice.

You can top off with more crushed pepper or salt if needed. I typically add more crushed pepper and not salt.
