Atte Ka Halwa – Instant Pot Kada Prashad

Nothing is more delicious than a warm bowl of Halwa. With a dough base made primarily of wheat flour, Atte Ka Halwa – Instant Pot Kada Prashad has more nutrients than the typical refined white flour. And most importantly, it’s incredibly simple with minimal ingredients.

What is Atte Ka Halwa – Instant Pot Wheat Flour Halwa – Kada Prashad?

Atte Ka Halwa literally means whole wheat flour dessert.  It is a sweet fudgy dessert pudding. It is usually served as a food in a gurdwara (a place of assembly and worship for Sikhs). Typically, the actual recipe demands equal portions of whole-wheat flour, clarified butter, and sugar. However, I have reduced the amount of sugar and clarified butter to make it healthier. You can increase the amount of sugar to 1 cup and ghee to 1 cup if you’d like.

What ingredients do I need to make Atte Ka Halwa – Instant Pot Kada Prashad?

Whole wheat flour, sugar, clarified butter (ghee), raisins, cashew nuts, water, and ground cardamom.

And, an Instant Pot of course.

How do I make this recipe?

Firstly, select sauté on the instant pot and add 2 cups of water. Once the water boils, add in the sugar and mix well until the sugar dissolves.

I do not see any sense in making this in the instant pot. Do not understand the trend of making things in instant pot just for the sake of it. This recipe doesn’t use the pressure cook function in any way which is what the instant pot is for. If you are going to just use Saute function then this recipe can totally be done on the stove top(any kind which everyone has – doesnt really need to be instant pot). Just my 2 cents
