So what Ingredients do I need for this Rose Makhana Strawberry Smoothie?

Ripe bananas, frozen strawberries (you could also do fresh), sugar (or sweetener of choice), roasted foxnuts (makhana), unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice), unsalted pistachios and edible rose petals (optional).

Ripe Bananas: I almost always use ripe bananas in my smoothies, and that’s because it provides a nice, natural sweetness.

Foxnuts – Here is some info about nutritional benefits of foxnuts. They can be found in Indian grocery stores.

How do I make this recipe?

Firstly, dry roast the foxnuts. Heat a frying pan on the stovetop over low heat. When the pan is hot, add a single layer of foxnuts. Additionally, do not add any oil or cooking spray. Stir frequently with a spatula until they turn crisp and golden. Make sure not to brown them. They can burn easily. It should take about 10 to 12 minutes. However, keep monitoring.

Secondly, when slightly cool, grind the nuts in a spice grinder or a blender.

Further, make the smoothie by blending the ground foxnuts, bananas, almond milk, sugar, strawberries, and rose essence. Blend until velvety smooth; pour into a glass. Finally top off with unsalted pistachios, a few roasted foxnuts and dried rose petals.
