This Banana Oatmeal Smoothie – Easy Breakfast Smoothie with banana and old-fashioned oats is a recipe for the creamiest, delicious smoothie ever. To make this easy, quick breakfast recipe, all you need is an extra ripe large banana, rolled oats, unsweetened almond milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and Kosher salt.

Banana Oatmeal Smoothie – Easy Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients:

Rolled oats – There is one critical element, however, to making this recipe, and that is to use old-fashioned rolled oats. I don’t recommend using steel cut oats. I buy mine from Costco and store them, and consider them a pantry staple for breakfast.


Banana – An over ripe large spotty banana is perfect for this recipe and adds all the natural sweetness you’ll need. Additionally, if you are using a small banana, make sure to use 2. You will need 1 whole cup of chopped banana.

Unsweetened almond milk – For the liquid for this recipe I used unsweetened almond milk. I like the milk for extra creaminess. You can use milk of your choice, whole milk, skim milk, soy milk, etc.

Pure vanilla extract, ground cinnamon and Kosher salt are some of the other ingredients you’d need. The cinnamon makes this smoothie taste like a baked treat. It’s hard to believe that smoothies can taste like baked treats but this one honestly does!

How do I make this recipe?

Firstly, for the best results, I highly recommend grinding your oatmeal in the blender until it turns into a fine powder. Chop the banana. It should translate to 1 cup chopped.

Secondly, just add the rest of the ingredients and proceed with your smoothie making, until all the ingredients are well blended. Also, there’s no need for additional sweetener as the ripe banana does the trick.
