Crispy, golden, healthy, Air Fryer French Fries – Spicy Air Fryer Potato Fries are finer than any fries you might get at a restaurant!

Should I soak the potatoes for this Air Fryer French Fries – Spicy Air Fryer Potato Fries recipe?
Soaking potatoes in cold water helps get rid of starch, which makes them extra crispy when air-fried. If you have time, soak them for at least 20 minutes. Furthermore, if you have plan to make these the next day, soak them overnight. The longer you can soak them, the better. Also, store them in the refrigerator while they soak. However, if you don’t have time you can eliminate the soaking process.
What ingredients do I need for this recipe?
Russet potatoes, oil of choice, salt, red chilli powder (cayenne pepper), garlic powder, and black ground pepper.
How do I make Air Fryer French Fries – Spicy Air Fryer Potato Fries recipe?
First, rinse and peel the potatoes. Secondly, slice the potatoes into ½ inch to 1-inch thick sticks. Don’t slice them super thin, like shoestrings. Slice the potatoes evenly, this will ensure that all potatoes are uniformly cooked and browned.
Soak the potato slices in cold water for a minimum of twenty minutes, and up to overnight. The longer, the better. However, if you are in a rush you can eliminate the soaking process. I personally feel, soaking makes the fries crispy.
When ready to cook, drain the water and pat the potatoes dry with a kitchen towel.
Further, in a large mixing bowl toss the potatoes with 1 tbsp oil, salt, red chili powder (cayenne pepper), garlic powder, and black ground pepper.
Furthermore, when you are ready to cook, grease your Air Fryer basket with 1 tbsp oil. I grease mine by rubbing, brushing, or spraying, a little bit of oil on the bottom grate. Then, follow your air fryer directions for preheating at 360°F for 5 minutes.
When it’s preheated, working in batches, place the potatoes in a single layer. Cook in the air fryer at 360°F for 16 to 18 minutes. After the first 8-10 minutes, toss the fries in the basket (be careful as it’s hot) so all pieces get nice and crispy.
You’ll know the potatoes are done when they have a nice golden-brown color on the outside and they can be effortlessly stabbed with a fork.
