As soon as I learned about adding foxnuts is a smoothie, I have been trying it in various combinations. A dash of roasted foxnuts before you turn on the blender will make your smoothies creamy and even more filling. Ready to give it a try? Great!

Ingredients needed for Coffee Makhana Milkshake – Coffee Foxnut Smoothie?
Instant coffee (I used Nescafe), almond milk, plain Greek yogurt, banana, sugar, foxnuts, and ice cubes.
What are foxnuts/Makhana?
Foxnuts also known as lotus seeds or Makhana (in Hindi) are rich in nutrients, and high in antioxidants. Additionally, they are said to have inflammatory properties and are rich in calcium. How do I make this recipe?
First in a pan on low heat dry roast the foxnuts until crisp. Also, make sure not to brown them too much. It should take about 10- 12 minutes. However, monitor them to make sure they don’t burn and stir them in between. Moreover, let them cool and grind them in a grinder.
Second, place all of the ingredients (Instant coffee, almond milk, plain Greek yogurt banana, sugar, foxnuts, and ice cubes) in a high-powered blender. Finally, blend them.
After blending the smoothie, transfer the smoothie in a large glass and enjoy.

- 3/4 banana (cut into pieces)
- 1/4 cup foxnuts (makhana, roasted)
- 3 to 4 ice cubes
- 2 tbsp sugar (or sweetner of choice)
- 2 tsp instant coffee ( I used Nescafe)
