Ingredients needed for Air Fryer Fish Achari – Achari Fish Tikka

Fish (I used salmon with skin). You can use any fish of choice. For the pickling spices you will need fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, Kalonji seeds, whole black peppercorns, and mustard seeds.

Additionally for the marinade you will need Indian mango pickle (any brand you choose), Greek yogurt, ginger garlic paste, Kashmiri chili powder, red chili powder, lemon juice, garam masala, salt, oil of choice.

Method to Make this recipe –

First, gather your ingredients for the pickling spices. Ingredients include fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, kalonji seeds, black peppercorns and mustard seeds. Second, dry roast them on medium heat on a pan until they change color and are fragrant. This step should take about 2 minutes. The spices can burn quickly so make sure you monitor them.

Furthermore, let them cool.

Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl make the marinade with the following ingredientsMango pickle (just the oil and spices, not the actual mango pieces), Greek yogurt, ginger garlic paste, Kashmiri chili powder, red chili powder, lemon juice, garam masala, salt, and 2 tbsp oil (preferably mustard). Mix well. Next grind the dry roasted achari spices into a fine powder in a coffee grinder or spice grinder.

Further, stir in all the ingredients in a large bowl. Then chop the fish to 4-inch pieces and pat dry with a paper towel. Make slits in the fish. Further add in the fish and coat it well with the marinade. Let the fish sit in the marinade for 30 minutes covered with a lid. If you have time leave it overnight in the refrigerator.

AIR FRY

Also, I line my Air fryer basket with aluminum foil. Poke holes in the aluminum foil, so the air circulates easily. Further, when you are ready to cook, grease the aluminum foil in the  Air Fryer  basket with oil or cooking spray.

Make sure to grease well or else the fish will get stuck and break. I used fish with skin so that worked great.

Air Fry at 400 Fahrenheit or 200 Celsius for 15-18 minutes, flip them over at 10 minute mark. Don’t overcoat the basket with the fish filet. Furthermore, every air fryer is different so check after the 15-minute mark. You can increase or decrease the time as per your liking.

Can I save this in the fridge?

Most fried or air fried food is best served right away since it tends to dry out. However, you can reheat the fish in the air fryer on 400℉/200℃ for 5-10 minutes.
